KDE Updates
Posted by ushimitsudoki on July 4, 2009
Well! I just applied a bunch of KDE updates and am much impressed right away! I’ve only had it installed minutes and already noticed a lot of improvements:
- There is a nice refinement of the visual appearance in both font rendering.
- Coloring of panels and menu launcher – the light gray beats the stuffing out of the dark black that was in effect.
- Plasma (?) shading on the desktop.
- A few missing icons in the menu launcher are now present.
- Nice expansion / improvement of the network manager applet on the panel!
- ALT-F2 launcher polished up, looking even better
Be aware that the kdm update killed my GUI, and I had to finish all the updating from a virtual terminal.
Kudos to those making the changes, and also to whoever is pushing out these updates! I think these are coming from the kubuntu-ppa/backports repository.
Is it possible that I am becoming a KDE fanboy?
